Periodically, I write to tell you about things that I’m thinking about writing, and sometimes I end up following through. Maybe that’s what this will be. I’m mulling over in my head a longer piece about, er, mixtape theory, for lack of a better term. Hopefully I’ll scribble some things that haven’t been rehashed a thousand times in regard to the subject. Maybe I should read over the Thurston Moore mixtape book first, so make sure I’m not rehashing too much. Also, I have some ideas up my sleeve with respect to year-end ratings.

Elsewhere in my life:

• I went Christmas shopping the other day, but nothing of consequence happened, so sadly, I’ve no tales to tell of that.
• Today we had our workplace holiday party, followed by my taking a nap at home and waking up at 5pm thinking it was 5am and wondering why my light was on. I was glad to have another couple hours to sleep. Until I realized it was evening and I had to get up.
• For this reason, I will now embark upon a little light reading and a long night’s rest, not unlike Rip Van Winkle (or, as someone (Keith?) recently deemed him, “Rip Van Winklestiltskin,” making me glad that I’m not the only one who mixes those two stories up).
